O incidente em questão foi um grande incêndio em Doha, Kuwait, que destruiu mais de 100 veículos militares americanos, incluindo 4 M1 Abrams, e é provavelmente a pior perda de um dia de veículos sofrida pelo Exército dos EUA desde a 2ª Guerra Mundial.

É importante notar que a guerra em si acabou no final de fevereiro de 1991, portanto, não é surpresa que os eventos ocorridos em julho não contam nas estatísticas de perdas para o combate, mas isso também serviu para quase esconder este desastre na sequência de um guerra bem-sucedida.

The incident in question was a major fire at Doha, Kuwait, a fire that destroyed over 100 American military vehicles, including 4 M1 Abrams, and is likely the worst one-day loss of vehicles suffered by the US Army since WW2.

It is worth noting that the war itself was over by the end of February 1991, so it is no surprise that events happening in July do not count in loss statistics for combat but this has also served to almost conceal this disaster in the aftermath of a successful war.
