Suzano Pulp Mill Construction In Mato Grosso Do Sul Jun 6 2023

On 6 June, GJEP and the Campaign to STOP GE Trees documented the construction of the largest pulp mill in the world, being undertaken by Suzano Pulp and Paper. This pulp mill is causing vast destruction of the native cerrado forest biome, which is being clearcut and replaced with industrial plantations of eucalyptus trees for 65 kilometers in all directions from the mill. These plantations are called "Green deserts" in Brazil because nothing can survive in them.
