French Tourists Flock To Netanya

If you're wandering around the Israeli coastal city of Netanya, you'll hear a lot of French being spoken. According to statistics, some 200,000 French tourists are visiting Israel over the summer and they are all flocking to Netanya which has become a home from home for many french Jews in recent years. It's almost as if French has become the official language of the city! The Sheraton hotel in Tel Aviv serves breakfast until 12.00 and the reason is simply that the French like to sleep in later. and with such high numbers of French visiting, the hotel has changed its usual schedule. Nearly all of the 200,000 visitors the summer are Jewish and it seems they all agree that Tel Aviv is better than Paris. Tour operators say that French tourists to Israel are the most patriotic and the most loyal.
