Sustainability has been an often-mentioned goal of more and more businesses, nonprofits, and governments. However, measuring the degree to which an organization is being sustainable can be difficult. John Elkington, the famed British management consultant, and sustainability guru, strove to measure sustainability by encompassing a new framework to measure performance in corporate America. This accounting framework, called the triple bottom line, went beyond the traditional measures of profits, return on investment, and shareholder value to include environmental and social dimensions. So, what is the triple bottom line? What are those three dimensions and how to measure them? Are there any real-world examples? What about its benefits and limitations? In this video, I will discuss these questions with you.
